Visiting the nearby town(OPEN) |

Aaron had grown tired of simply sitting at the SCG base and decided to go into the town as nothing for his group, sg-2 which was simply him at the moment had
even come up. As he drove into the town, he parked and decided to walk around for awhile to see the sites and to see what the town had to offer. The town
seemed larger than he expected, thought the night before when he drove through it had been pretty dark. He walked up and down the main stretch till he was
finally tired and hungry. He quickly ducked into the largest diner and bar the town had to offer. He looked around to see it was quite full but found a seat at
the bar. The bartender asked what he could get for him? "Get a beer and a steak medium rare." The bartender nodded to him and placed the order in the
kitchen and then poured him his beer, placing it in front of him. Aaron took a sip of it and then picked up the towns paper that sat on the bar. He scanned it
as he waited for his food to arrive. Finishing his beer he ordered another as he continued to scan through the paper.

Grim entered the dimly lit bar, looking for a beer and some time to think. Walking through the crowds he headed for the counter, he sat to the right of a young
man who unknowingly was apart of his team. Motioning to the bartender for a Samuel Adams Lager, Grim sat there thinking about what had transpired at work.
"It would be smart to figure out were my colleagues cool off after work." He thought. In his experiences as a Cold War spy for one of the most
ruthless agencies, it was always the bar where you can meet with contacts, conduct business, or look for informants amongst the civilian population.

Aaron sat there sipping his beer and reading over the boring paper. Though it was a decent size town, apparently very little happened here so that made it a
very quiet place. Aaron was used to large towns as he had always lived in the major towns where ever he and his family traveled. Even after joining the
military himself he kept this up so that during his off time he wouldn't be bored. As he sat the last paper section upon the bar, he heard someone sit down
beside him and order a beer. As he looked over to the man who was slightly older than him, he recognized him as one of the commanders over one of the sg teams.
After a moment he finally remembered the mans name. "Your commander grim right, I've seen you around the base before but didn't have the pleasure
of meeting you officially. I'm major aaron kingsdon, just got transferred in yesterday." Aaron stuck his hand out to shake the mans hand. "Guess
you and I had the same idea since the base was fresh out of beer." Just then the bartender handed aaron his steak which looked great. After a long day and
a very long workout, food would simply hit the spot. He cut into it to check it for its rare content. "Perfect my good man, looks dead on what I
ordered." He then cut a piece of it off and ate a bit of it. "Steaks not bad commander, if your hungry you should try one."

"Transferred Kingsdon?." replied Grim. "Did they find you wearisome?" Grim took a sip of his beer which just came to him from the
bartender. "With inept leadership they will send us in to rescue them. Be as that may, our mission is to explore. The other member of our team is another
marine. A Captain Benson. You may know her, or you may not. Just to make this clear, I have a history of violence. I am used to working under lots of stress
right under the noses of my enemies. You and the other marine will have to keep up." said Grim making sure that only Kingsdon could hear.

Aaron grinned at the mans statement. "Nothing like that really, they saw that I wasn't being tested enough and apparently a search for people was sent
out by SGC. My higher ups decided I needed a change of pace after everything that has happened." Aaron then a drink of his beer and a bite of his steak.
"In truth just sending out four people no matter how good is a bad idea unless your doing a stealthy recon or the like. I have a feeling we'll be
pulling their bacon out of the fire a lot so to speak, but then again thats what we get paid for I guess." Aaron then listened to him talk as he ate and
drank. "Only thing I know of her is what was in the files, past that I don't know her personally. That makes two of us, I've been both decorated
and reprimanded for my hairy trigger. Sounds like you and I might just get along after all. As for working under stress, well thats where I work best and the
best comes out of me. Don't worry about me commander grim, I'll keep up just fine with you." Aaron then finished his second beer and ordered a
third and final one. The bartender handed it to him and he drank it as he finished his steak.

"Without pay, I would not be sitting here." replied Grim with a small, nostalgic smile. "It is time for me to go. An old man has to have his
sleep. I will have to find some place to rest, but the supply officer seems to have misplaced my entire room, though they had your quarters up pretty
smartly." He said with a yawn. "Maybe, just maybe it's a not to subtle hint to get me to leave. Oh well, I've heard that library has some
couches which will work for now." With that said Grim walked through the crowds again and exited the bar into the night, heading back to SGC.

Aaron grinned at his words, "good point. I'm here either way till three more years, then I can retire though I'm not sure I could stand to be a
civilian again. Not enough hell in their lives, it would be to boring after all I've been through." Aaron finished his beer and the steak finally and
payed the tab. "Well I know my room wasn't exactly what I wanted, I'm down near the green recruits; but I guess its better than nothing. I'm
sure they'll get you squared away soon and don't really want you gone." Aaron then heard him say good night as he was getting ready to leave.
"Good night commander grim, I guess it is getting late and boring since theres nothing for us to do." Aaron walked out behind him and slowly made his
way to his truck. He then drove back to the base and parked his vehicle. He then entered the base walking down to his room that was near the green recruits and
entered his room. Not quite tired yet, he sat down and began to catch up on his reading that pertained to his college degrees he had received. After a few
hours of reading he passed out and went to sleep.
